Tabarrini
Adarmando 2019
Bianco Umbria IGT
Tabarrini’s premier white wine demonstrates the through line of power and elegance that Montefalco imbues in its wines. Adarmando utilizes 100+ year old Trebbiano Spoletino vines that show the level to which old vines concentrate and layer flavor in the glass. This site is the last of Tabarrini’s to be harvested, a decision that requires the difficult task of vinifying the reds, cleaning equipment, and then making the white. Only free run juice is used, with the wine spending a year on the lees with occasional battonage.
Vineyard

The Trebbiano Spoletino used was planted in 1920, providing some of the oldest vines in the region. The vines are the last of Tabarrini’s to be harvested (often in November), a choice made for style and respect of the vines.
Winemaking

To show how serious Tabarrini is about his white, he vinifies the Trebbiano after the reds have been made, requiring a devotion to cleaning the equipment lest the red impart any flavor or color. Depending on the vintage, skin-contact is employed for texture and flavor. After fermentation, the wine rests in stainless steel for 12 months with occasional battonage before 6 months in bottle.
Vintage

A smaller yield resulted in wines of good concentration, with year balanced by extremes of heat and rain. Disease and hail pressure were mercifully low, allowing for a higher quality of fruit.
Tasting Note

Intensely fragrant white truffle on the nose, with the palate expressing a range of orchard fruit woven into loamy earth. Textural and enticing, the wine shows a supreme ability to age.

Reviews
"Deeply Seductive"
Vinous - August 26, 2022
"An exotic and slightly tropical display of ripe green melon, kiwi, sugar-dusted white strawberries and vanilla bean lifts up from the 2019 Bianco Adarmando. This is deeply seductive and pleasantly sweet, offering silken textures, ripe orchard fruits and honeyed inner florals. A teeth-chattering mix of salty minerals and brisk acids creates a riveting tension through the finale as this tapers off incredibly fresh under an air of custard and hints of raw almond. The Adarmando is a large-scale yet completely harmonious interpretation of late-harvest Trebbiano Spoletino." - E.G 7/2021

Montefalco Sagrantino Passito
Montefalco Sagrantino Passito DOCG
Made in the traditional way, Tabarrini’s Montefalco Sagrantino Passito is a decadent dessert wine built from the region’s famed varietal. The Sagrantino grapes are left to dry on straw mats for three months before fermentation, concentrating the flavors and sugars to produce a bold and fragrant style of sweet wine.

Tabarrini Colle Alle Macchie
Montefalco Sagrantino DOCG
Colle alle Macchie sits at the top of a separate hill from where the rest of the wines are located and sourced. Thus, here is a differing profile of the Tabarrini single site wines, with clay rich soils and unrestricted southern exposure providing extra opulence in the glass.

Campo Alla Cerqua
Montefalco Sagrantino DOCG
The poor soils and eastern exposure of Campo alla Cerqua produce a wine of grace and mineral driven complexity. Within the lineup, the wine stands out for its finer, silkier texture and its decadently perfumed aromatics.

Boccatone
Montefalco Rosso DOC
Boccatone is a joyful expression of Montefalco and a wonderful counterpart to the single vineyard Sagrantinos of Tabarrini. Made from a majority of Sangiovese and finished with Barbera and Sagrantino, the blend expresses the serious and age worthy side of the estate with an accessibly joyful palate.
