Crémant de Loire Brut NV is a blend of 60% Chenin Blanc (including 10% reserve wine) 20% Chardonnay and 20% Cabernet Franc. This polished and fresh Crémant is hand crafted with the same process and attention to detail as the best Champagne, with only the “cuvée” juice used and extended 24-month aging on the lees.

VINEYARD

Langlois-Chateau owns and manages 175 acres of the best AOC vineyards in the Loire Valley. For their Crémants they have an intensely terroir-focused approach of drawing the best characteristics from 6 distinct vineyard areas and soil types in order to create complex and refined wines. Langlois maintains a sustainable approach to vineyard management and holds the “Terra Vitis” certification.

WINEMAKING

62% of the estate’s production is devoted to Crémant. These sparkling wines are treated far beyond category standards and at the level of only the very top Champagne producers.
Grapes are hand harvested in small bins and pressed gently. Only the ‘first press juice’ is used (the ‘cuvée’). Each parcel and each variety is vinified separately.
Aging lasts at least 36 months (versus 12 months required by the appellation). Reserve wines are incorporated in the final blend which is an extremely rare practice in the world of crémant.

Reviews

"Very good value"

Vinous - July 23, 2020 "Persistent tiny bubbles, aromas of lemon pie, lemon curd and a touch of herb and flint. In the mouth it's warm and generous. Clementine, grapefruit and pear, with bright swirling acidity. Balanced with a creaminess on the clean finish. Very good value."

"Grapefruit and peach

Decanter - May 25, 2023 "Lovely freshness offset by rich orchard fruit and gentle nuttiness in this enjoyable fizz that delivers a lot for its price tag. The blend is dominated by Chenin Blanc (10% of which from reserve wines) and the variety’s trademark woolly creaminess gives weight to the lifted linden, grapefruit and peach aromas. Textural and food-friendly." -I.S 3/23

"Fresh and inviting"

Decanter - July 21, 2021 "A blend of 60% Chenin Blanc and equal amounts of Chardonnay and Cabernet Franc, with 10% reserve wine. Fresh and inviting nose, fine bubbles on the palate and tangy, almost sherbet apple flavors. Really enjoyable, with a citrus kick towards the finish. Well balanced with good acidity to keep it refreshing and nice depth. Pair with light summer snacks or fish. A crowd-pleaser."

"Plenty of texture and depth"

Jeb Dunnuck - November 30, 2018 "The NV Crémant de Loire Brut is a beauty based mostly on Chenin Blanc, with 20% each of Chardonnay and Cabernet Franc. It spent 36 months on lees in bottle. Juicy citrus, tangerine, and lime-like characteristics all emerge from this medium-bodied, balanced Crémant that has plenty of texture and depth. It’s a good value and a serious sparkler."

"Round, mouthfilling sparkling wine"

Wine Enthusiast - August 9, 2018 “A blend of Chenin Blanc, Cabernet Franc and Chardonnay, this is a round, mouthfilling sparkling wine with ripe apple flavors layered with grapefruit acidity and a tight, final texture that is crisp and mineral.” - Wine Enthusiast
