Le Macchiole founders Eugenio Campolmi and Cinzia Merli were among the Bolgheri region’s early pioneers in the early 1980s, and they contributed in a significant way to the area’s growing fame thanks to their work in creating wines full of character and personality that have become a symbol of the region. In 2017, Mattia Campolmi officially joined the winery to handle Marketing and Sales and will be joining Master Sommelier Craig Collins to share some updates from the winery and discuss Italy’s new generation of producers.
