Marina Cvetic Montepulciano d’Abruzzo Riserva 2016

Montepulciano d'Abruzzo DOC

The Montepulciano Marina Cvetic represents an intense and remarkable expression of one of the historical vines of Abruzzo.  The 100% Montepulciano comes from eight of the estate's top parcels, across an altitude of 500 to 1,200 feet above sea level, on soils of calcareous clay and lime.  In these vineyards, we find not only the traditional Abruzzo pergola vine training, but also Simple Guyot and Spur Cordon as well.

Vinous Media "Deep ruby-red. Pure aromas of plum, smoke, oak and sweet spices. Dense, suave and deep, offering rich, concentrated flavors of red cherry and dark plum lifted by a hint of…

Trebbiano d’Abruzzo 2018

Trebbiano d'Abruzzo

Just as Masciarelli made a name for Abruzzo's Montepulciano grape, they also elevated the quality and reputation of the Trebbiano grape. The particular Trebbiano in Abruzzo is a relative of the grape planted in many other areas of Italy, in the climate and soils of Abruzzo when farmed for quality, it produces a wine with fantastically expressive fruit and a gorgeous balance of round concentration and mineral freshness.

Vinous Media "Luminous straw-yellow. Enticing aromas of ripe yellow fruit, marzipan and flowers. Bright, fresh and round in the mouth, offering lovely yellow apple, pear and a hint of almond paste on…

Montepulciano d’Abruzzo 2016

Montepulciano d'Abruzzo

The first line created by Gianni Masciarelli has become over the years a landmark for the company and its customers, in addition to being the most consistent and known, in Italy and abroad. Its wines, Montepulciano D’Abruzzo DOC, Trebbiano D’Abruzzo DOC, and Rosato IGT Colline Teatine are today “a classic”, which can reflect the genuine taste of tradition and the quality of Abruzzo native vines.

James Suckling "The warmth but freshness of the wide array of forest fruit is beguiling, opening with dark cherries, blackberries, black raspberries and undergrowth. The palate is taut and finely wound in…

Villa Gemma Montepulciano d’Abruzzo Riserva 2014

Montepulciano d'Abruzzo

Villa Gemma is the wine that announced Abruzzo to the world, showcasing what the region and grapes of Abruzzo could produce. Villa Gemma Montepulciano Riserva is the only Italian wine with 14 consecutive Tre Bicchieri awards and, more importantly, was the wine that established Abruzzo as capable of making truly distinct, extraordinary wines. Villa Gemma Montepulciano Riserva is a powerfully – almost undeniably – intense wine of character and complexity.

James Suckling "Another fantastic red with crushed blackberries and blueberries and hints of lavender and vanilla. Medium to full body and firm, silky tannins. Bright finish."

Villa Gemma Cerasuolo d’Abruzzo 2018

Cerasuolo d'Abruzzo DOC

Perhaps the finest rosé production area in Italy, and one of the few appellations dedicated only to rosé, Cerasuolo has a long history of producing serious rosé, and showcasing how well the Montepulciano grape is adapted to rosé. Masciarelli first produced this wine in 1986, only 5 years after the winery was founded. With deep fruit and structure but no shortage of pleasure, it is a rosé you can take to the dinner table.

James Suckling "This is always an attractive rosé with fresh cherries, cherry blossom, citrus and rose petals. Very fresh and tangy, showing bright fruit and a flavorful finish."

Vinous Media "Pale red, the color a Cerasuolo d’Abruzzo should always be. Saline herbs dominate the nose and mouth initially, then lusciously ripe but a very fresh red cherry presence emerges and…

Marina Cvetic ISKRA 2015

Montepulciano d'Abruzzo Colline Teramane DOCG

ISKRA is the Serbian word for “spark,” and Gianni Masciarelli dedicated this wine to his wife, Marina Cvetic, who is from Serbia. It is among the Marina Cvetic line of wines, which Gianni created for his wife. Made from a single-vineyard cru of Montepulciano d’Abruzzo, ISKRA is a wine of extraordinary distinction and depth.

Vinous Media “Inky ruby. Bright flinty, smoky notes complement the dark, spicy plum aromas and flavors. Herbal nuances add a complicating touch on the long finish. Plenty of oak here, but it’s…
