Choosing the Right Sparkling Wine for the Holidays

Barron’s Penta interviewed Wine Access’ “Chief Wine Officer” Vanessa Conlin to get her recommendations for sparkling wines to enjoy during the holidays, which include Langlois-Chateau Crémant de Loire Brut and Champagne Bollinger Special Cuvée NV. The piece highlights different regions and price points, providing options for a range of bubble styles and occasions.

Conlin explains that Langlois-Chateau, produced in the Loire Valley, is produced in the traditional method even though it isn’t from the Champagne region and is owned by the esteemed Bollinger family. “It’s such a great value,” Conlin says. “It’s not from the region Champagne, so you are not paying for the branding of that region, but it has the investment and quality of this very prestige Champagne house behind it.” Hostess tip for parties, she adds, “pop it by the case and it’s still pretty affordable.”
