Château Minuty: Rosé From The French Riviera

Forbes contributor Jill Barth wrote a fantastic feature story focused solely on Château Minuty. In the depth piece offers a historical overview of the estate, which has been owned by the Farnet-Matton family for more than 80 years. As result of an interview with third generation co-owner Francois Matton, Barth learned several details about the 2019 vintage, including that “The vineyards were very healthy and the harvest was of very high quality.” He added, “The 2019 Minuty rosés are characterized by a tangy freshness and powerful aromas of peach and grapefruit.”

The conversation evolved to the grape varieties on property, including Tibouren, which is a typical, ancient Provençal grape and emblematic of the Saint-Tropez peninsula. Found mostly in rosé blends, “adding nice tasting notes of fruit and structure in the mouth with spicy notes,” according to Matton. “Tibouren typically has well-developed leaves and black, medium-sized berries that are relatively generous, making it an ideal grape for rosé vinification.”

The two also discussed Prestige 2019, as it launched nationally in the US this year with new packaging. “The bottle reflects the image of the Prestige wine, a delicate rosé with very intense aromas of citrus, exotic fruits and white flowers with remarkable freshness,” says Matton.
