Wine, etc.: Grenache is an underrated wine you should try

Wine writers Tom Marquardt and Patrick Darr wrote about the Grenache grape in their syndicated column in the Capital Gazette, “Wine, etc.: Grenache is an underrated wine you should try.” The story highlights how Grenache is a wine that deserves much more attention than it is given, versatile enough to enjoy on its own or stand up to a hearty meal. They continue, “Grenache is one of the most versatile grapes in the world and often plays an important role in blends… In southern Rhone Valley, it is part of the fantastic blends of Chateauneuf du Pape, Vacqueyras, Gigondas and Cotes du Rhone.” Guigal Gigondas 2014 and Chateau de Nalys Blanc Grand Vin 2017 are among the Rhone wines recommended in the story. The Guigal wine is described as “delicious as always,” and the Nalys wine offers “great structure, pure fruit character with lots of raspberry and blackberry flavors and hints of spice and pepper.” Read the full story HERE
